Valentino Brand Officially Announced That It Will Abandon Fur Forever from 2022
The Valentino brand is now planning to drop fur for its clothes starting from 2022. The company is going to focus on working on its signature brand. On Tuesday, the Rome fashion house officially announced that it also plans to end its early collection, called Red Valentino, starting from 2024.
The CEO of the company said that the lack of fur is perfectly matching with the company’s values. Now they are looking for alternative eco-friendly materials to pay more attention to the environment and our planet for creating its future collections.
A Milan-based fur company called Polar, which has been completely owned by Valentino since 2018, will stop production at the end of 2021. The latest fur collection will be shown in the upcoming fall 2021-2022 season.
Many brands have also promised to abandon fur over the past few years. For example, such world brands as Michael Kors, Gucci, and Burberry, as well Versace and Chanel are also considering more sustainable ways of producing. Nevertheless, there is a lot of controversy on this basis, because fur supporters say that natural fur is more environmentally friendly than fake one.
