The Chanel brand recently shared an upcoming diamond necklace that resembles its No.5 perfume bottle. The French fashion house will soon reveal the entire collection, which will consist of 123 pieces, to celebrate the centenary of the famous perfume.

Exactly 100 years ago, 37-year-old Coco Chanel asked Ernest Beaux to create a special perfume that she would give to regular clients of the fashion boutique in Paris. The perfume turned out to be so popular among the customers that it became one of the well-known and best-selling in the world.

The main element in collection No.5 is a necklace that perfectly carries the history of the brand and the creation of the perfume in 1921. After reviewing a lot of paintings with images of the number five, it was finally decided to draw a square-shaped emerald to exactly repeat the form of the label on the perfume bottle. The house was not necessarily looking for the largest stone. They only needed the one that would perfectly reflect the theme and the number 5. And it appeared to be a stone with a weight of 55.55 carats.

In addition to the main diamond, the necklace is surrounded by 104 round diamonds and 42 oval diamonds, which perfectly repeat the shape of the bottle. The jewelry is made of white gold and colorless diamonds. The clasp is shaped like the number 5, Coco’s lucky number. The company has no plans to sell the necklace. Instead, it will be stored in the archives of the fashion house in Paris.
