The Winners of the LVMH Prize 2021 Are Known. This Year There Are Four of Them at Once
On September 7, the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris hosted the final of the LVMH Prize 2021 Young Designers Competition. The award ceremony took place at the Contemporary Art Museum. Nine finalists flew to France, despite the restrictions associated with the pandemic, and presented their collections to a jury. Also this year, the composition of the jury of the award was expanded. The designers Virgil Abloh, Kim Jones, Stella McCartney, Marc Jacobs, Jonathan Anderson, and other experts were included. The results of the competition of fashion designers were announced by the French actress Isabelle Huppert.
The main winner of the LVMH Prize 2021 is the 28-year-old English designer with Albanian roots, Nensi Dojaka. Now her brand, which is already loved by buyers and stars around the world, will receive an investment of € 300,000 and a year of mentoring from designers and managers of LVMH. Designer products made of translucent organza have already gained popularity in the media space thanks to Bella Hadid’s appearances in the brand’s iconic items.
Three other brands at once took the special Karl Lagerfeld prize. Rui Zhou from China, along with the founder of the South African brand Lukhanyo Mdingi, and Colm Dillane, known as KidSuper, received a year of mentoring and € 150,000.
