The Rare Pink Diamond, Which Is the Largest, Was Purchased at the Auction for $29 Million
The gorgeous diamond, called Sakura, was purchased at the auction for the record amount of 29 million dollars. This is a 15.81 carats massive diamond that is placed on a platinum and gold ring. And now it has officially become the largest pink diamond ever bought at the auction for $29.3 million. The event took place in Hong Kong on May 23.
But why does it cost so much? The thing is that natural pink diamonds are unique, and the large ones are even rarer. It is claimed that less than 10 percent of pink diamonds weigh more than one-fifth of a carat. And Sakura’s, in turn, weights almost 80 times the original 15.81 carats. Not only this unique diamond attracts attention for its size, but it also has unusual color and clarity.
The experts say that this is truly a natural wonder. And thanks to its bright-pink shade it will definitely conquer the hearts of all connoisseurs of beauty.
