Selfridges Cooperates with Untapped Creatives to Highlight the African Culture
Selfridges – the platform for luxury, eco-friendly design, created between the UK and African countries, will finally appear on Wednesday and will be available in stores in London and also online. Household goods, as well as fashion and beauty products, will also arrive in stores and online by Wednesday.
Untapped Creatives was founded last year, and it offers a luxury collection of about 20 eco-friendly brands. The cooperation highlights the work of African and British artists. Most often, the products are made to order or in small limited quantities. In addition, the designers from the countries from which the crafts or materials come from work there. And some sales go to African charities.
The artists want to combine British tailoring and the history of African culture. They work with environmentally friendly materials only, such as fabric pieces, which are then woven by hand to form new textiles.
Owned by Afro-Americans businesses are now struggling with access, funding, and long-term growth. Therefore, the main goal of the project is to highlight the wealth of creativity in the Afro-American community and find an economic solution to help the African business reach the next level.
