The exhibition, titled Stylistics, opens at Galerie Gmurzynska in Zurich and is dedicated to the Polaroid photographs of the co-founder of Self-Portrait Magazine, Ezra Petronio. The exhibits will be displayed in two halls of the gallery- Paradeplatz and Talstrasse.
The exhibition includes portraits of some of the most influential figures of the past three decades, capturing revolutionary changes in art, fashion and culture. Among them are designers Karl Lagerfeld and Alber Elbaz, model Kendall Jenner, artists, and many other personalities. For 30 years, the photographer has shot more than 4000 portraits in Polaroid. That’s about 130 per year. All images were taken with Fuji Land Camera and Polaroid FP-100 film.
The exposition consists of 2 parts. In one room, 120 unique, intimate Polaroids are shown, while in the other- works of enlarged dimensions. With the help of collage creation, the artist creates new stories. The exhibition will be accompanied by an illustrated catalog with texts and interviews by Charlotte Cotton. The show will run until February 22, 2022.
