Pyer Moss Fall 2021 Collection Featured Peanut Butter and Refrigerator Sculptures
The satirical couture collection, Pyer Moss Fall 2021, presented a can of peanut butter, a refrigerator, a telephone, and other strange elements. But all that we can see on the models is the inventions of Afro-Americans.
Thus, the brand touched on the topic of black rights. The historic mansion of the first black female millionaire was used to display the collection to celebrate the ongoing injustice.
Kerby Jean-Raymond decided to honor the missed inventions of Afro-Americans with a collection of soft sculptures. The designer and activist is also the first black fashion designer who appeared at Paris Fashion Week. Inspired by Pixar cartoons, Jean-Raymond wanted to connect the world of designers who go unnoticed but are very special with the world of fashion. The collection featured noticeable couture details such as a cutout dress or a gorgeous white pantsuit. Products that combine fashion and art are intended for a gallery exhibition but can also serve as inspiration for an entertainment project.
