Many mass events had to be canceled or transferred to the online format because of the coronavirus pandemic. This happened with Paris Fashion Week too. The show will be held online from July 6 to July 8.
Paris Fashion Week, which was previously canceled, will still be held online.
Couture week took in the schedule of fashion calendar dates from July 5 to 9, but its digital analogue will be held from July 6 to July 8.
For presentations and shows will be created a special online platform, and the main form of presentation will be fashion films. It is not yet known which brands will be included in the final schedule, but some designers have already refused to participate: designer Giorgio Armani announced that the new Armani Privé collection will be shown in January. Jean-Paul Gaultier, who handed over the management of his couture business to Chitose Abe Sacai, said that his fashion show will also be postponed until January. Givenchy currently lacks a creative director, so the production of haute couture outfits is likely to be suspended. Balenciaga, which in July was to show the debut haute couture collection of designer Demna Gvasalia, also postponed the show.
Previously, other upcoming fashion events have reoriented and decided to hold shows in online format – Men’s fashion weeks in London, Paris and Milan, Pitti Uomo exhibition.
