Nike Collaborated with Piñatex and Presented a Line of Eco-Sneakers Made of Pineapple

Nike’s company has recently revealed a collection that features plant-based sneakers made from pineapple. The joint line with Piñatex, called Happy Pineapple, includes five shoes in different colors. The shoes, designed by Nike and Piñatex, are produced with pineapple-based leather from durable leaf fibers. Namely, from this material, the whole new collection is made.

Some of the shoes from the all-vegan line represent new editions of the brand’s most popular styles, including the Nike Air Max and Air Force 1, refreshed in tropical colors. Nike managed to combine its innovative models with thoughtful details.
These sneakers follow other vegan shoes from brands such as Adidas and New Balance, which are proposing sustainable textiles like mushroom-based or recycled plastic bottles.
A recent study found that the demand for vegan and organic shoes is growing fast. As the consumers’ preferences change, most companies are now focusing on sustainability.
