Nensi Dojaka has already become a favorite of many celebrities over the past year, and now the fashion designer’s popularity is expected to increase even more thanks to her latest achievement in the fashion world. About the life of a Young Designer

Dojaka was born in Albania but moved to the U.K. in 2009, at the age of 16, to pursue a degree in fashion. Last March, her graduation collection at Central Saint Martins, which consisted of deconstructed dresses made from layers of different types of sheer fabrics, caught the attention of Canadian luxury retailer Ssense. With the store’s support, Nensi Dojaka decided to go ahead and create her brand, Nensi Dojaka.

The brand debuted at London Fashion Week 2021. Nensi Dojaka showed a collection of mini dresses, tops, strappy bras, and skirts in dark neutral shades. The range was complemented by men’s shirts and blazers.

Nancy’s Education and Learning Path

The girl did not have to wait long for her success. Next, Dozhaka lived in London. She is a graduate of Central Saint Martins, after which she launched her eponymous brand in 2017. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the university. During her studies, the girl interned at designer brands such as Peter Pilotto and Fyodor Golan.

After showing her graduation collection two years later, she created a capsule collection with Ssense and was selected to show as part of Fashion East’s Emerging Designer Support Platform.

She was also selected for the first edition of the mentoring program by fashion designer Alessandro Dell’Acqua and Tomorrow London, which helped her get 30 outlets worldwide.

The designer is popular for her lingerie-inspired dresses and cutouts that reference the style of yesteryear. She draws inspiration for her looks from designers such as Helmut Lang and Ann Demeulemeester. This is also the source of her love for semi-transparent textures and bras which she includes in her collections both as an independent item of clothing and as a decorative element in dresses and tops. Translucent fabrics (mostly tulle and organza) and minimalism dominate Nensi Dojaka’s collections.

Creating her looks, Nensi layers one layer of fabric over another. This way she manages to keep the effect of “nudity”, but covers the right parts of the body. The designer stated that her outfits should make women charming, not vulgar.

Nensi combines fragile textures and geometric bricolage. Her work deforms and fragments the sensual silhouette. You can know that her image of a woman is complex, and all of her beauty lies in having the perfect balance of austerity and delicacy.

Most recently, the Albanian womenswear designer won the LVMH Young Designer Award 2021, which she received at a star-studded ceremony in Paris. The award was presented by French actress Isabelle Huppert, and the jury included Kim Jones, artistic director of Dior for Men, Louis Vuitton, Stella McCartney, Marc Jacobs, and Loewe artistic director Jonathan Anderson.

The fate of Nensi in this competition was decided by 60 experts in the fashion industry, as well as everyone who could vote for their favorite on the website of the award.

Dojaka beat about 1,900 applicants from 110 countries. She received the award, which includes a prize of 300,000 euros and a year of training with experts from LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton. The designer has announced her intention to use the prize money to expand her team and focus on production.

Seven designers, including the new creative director of Rochas Charles de Vilmorin and his brand Charles de Vilmorin, Christopher John Rogers, Conner Ives, Colm Dylan with KidSuper, Lukhanyo Mdingi, and Rui, fought for the victory in the final. However, the last three (KidSuper, Lukhanyo Mdingi, and Rui) were not without an award. These brands received a prize named after Karl Lagerfeld: 150 thousand euros.

She is known to have recently started working with a new factory in Italy and is using innovative and more sustainable fabrics.

The girl shared that when she started her journey, she had a very young customer base, but now that the collection has evolved and become more tailored and strong, there is a wider audience. And the designer is ready to make it more versatile.

This is her first solo show since winning the LVMH award.

The front row was packed with high fashion professionals, Instagram girls, and a new batch of TikTokers.

The designer wanted to enjoy her newfound success and celebrate everything her brand is known for: little black dresses, sexy necklines, and lingerie details. So the party was full of body-hugging dresses with bra-like tops, asymmetry, petite length, and flirty ruffles. This is a strong signature brand that can grow in popularity as the world opens up and Dojak’s name further penetrates the mainstream.

She also added hints of novelty in the form of floral embellishments, flecks of nude or pink to break up her usual all-black palette, and a playful heart-shaped wire that adorned the front of the mini-dress neckline.

As Nensi, herself said, she had a lot of random ’60s images in her head, hence the floral style. As for the heart story, it was an extension of the dress the girl created for the amfAR Gala charity fashion show. It was a mix of these stories put together.

But the young designer took it one step further and showed off the rest of what she has to offer: from tight knitwear – with Dojaka’s signature edgy triangle neckline treatment – to head-turning bodysuits; and cool tailoring that can be worn over dresses and bras.

Nensi Dojaka’s Plans for the Future of the Brand

Although the brand’s outfits focus attention on the female figure, the designer’s aesthetic focuses on practicality rather than hypersexuality. Tight-fitting details are balanced by lots of asymmetrical fabric patterns. The layering helps to maintain the effect of transparency without exposing the body. You could say it’s a kind of protection. In the future, the designer wants to refrain from excessive sexualization of clothing and protect women from any associations with vulgarity. In this way, the Nensi Dojaka brand woman always remains seductive, bold, and untouchable.

In the future, Nensi Dojaka only plans to strengthen the aesthetics and quality of the products, as well as to expand the range to footwear production.
