Jean Paul Gaultier Fashion House Has Recently Launched Its Own Rental Platform
Jean Paul Gaultier is opening its archives to the general public. Now, the vintage items from various collections of the designer can be rented.
The archives of the French fashion brand contain 30,000 items that Gaultier created during his 50-year career. Of course, not all of them will make it to the special platform that the brand will launch. But 30 runway pieces from the 1980s and 1990s have already been selected for it. Rental prices will range from 150 euros for a scarf to 700 euros for an avant-garde evening dress. The brand’s new online store will be non-gendered, without the traditional division into men’s and women’s lines.
Some archived models will still be available for purchase. About 50 vintage items from archives and private collections will be put up for sale. Collaboration is also planned with other designers who will work with Gaultier archives and create their own interpretations. The archive rental platform will launch in the coming days on the brand’s website.
