With all of the heat we apply to our hair and the constant pulling and tugging we put it through to achieve the ideal look, it’s time to dedicate some time to healing. Today we are going to talk about how to fix damaged hair using three different methods. These methods will provide you with the knowledge on how to heal damaged hair and some of the best-damaged hair repair tips to share with your friends. Let’s get right into it!
The No Poo Method
We’re going to begin this hair damage solution by talking about the No Poo Method. This method is exactly what it sounds like, skip the shampoo! It is more common than not for your shampoos to be filled with harsh chemicals, parabens, and sulfates which strip your hair of its natural oils. By doing this, your hair and scalp are left dry and damaged. By omitting the shampoo from your shower routine, you will allow your scalp to return to its natural state. At first, this method may leave you with slightly greasy hair as your scalp will initially overproduce oils as it will be compensating for the lack of fake oils from your shampoo. But after a short while, your scalp will self regulate and know just the right amount of oils to produce in order to leave your hair looking healthy and revived. No Poo Method is one of the most natural tips for damaged hair. This method is the first method I share with people when talking about how to get damaged hair healthy again.
Coco&Eve Hair Mask
If you are not so willing to go all in and totally ditch the shampoo, another great way to help damaged hair is to use a hair mask. Coco&Eve has created an all-natural vegan and cruelty-free hair mask that will leave you with healthy and luscious locks. When talking about how to correct damaged hair, this process couldn’t get any simpler! The application of their Like A Virgin Hair Masque can be completed in three easy steps. Step one, apply the mask to your hair. To make this step even easier, they provide you with both the hair mask and a brush to ensure you apply the product throughout your head in its entirety. Step two, wrap your hair in a towel and allow the product to sit for at least ten minutes. Last but not least, step three, rinse the product from your hair and style however you please. And there you have it, healthy hair in ten quick minutes. I recommend this method if you’re in a pinch for time and need to revive your hair as quickly as possible.
Coconut Oil Hair Moisturizer
If you are still wondering what to do with damaged hair, the last method we are going to talk about today is one of my favorites. It’s extremely simple, affordable, and you may even already have this product in your home. Coconut Oil! I call this method the Coconut Oil Hair Moisturizer Method and here’s how it works. Plan your schedule out so that you will be able to shower in the morning before going out into the public as this mask will rest in your dry and damaged hair overnight. All you have to do is scoop a fair amount of coconut oil into your hands and allow the oil to soften. Once the oil has softened you can begin to evenly disperse the oil throughout your hair. Once every strand of hair is covered you can wrap your hair in a towel or simply tie your locks up in a bun to keep the moisture in. I recommend sleeping with a towel on your pillow to avoid any unwanted oil stains on your pillowcase. In the morning you will simply hop in the shower and scrub the coconut oil out of your hair. This is one of my favorite methods because it is 100% natural and more often than not I have coconut oil in my home. There’s no better way to problem solve than by using things you already have.
So, can you repair damaged hair? Yes, of course, you can. The splitting of ends, drying of hair and damaging of strands are all totally normal. When we are leading such busy lives it is hard to remember to dedicate time for ourselves. I challenge you to set aside some time for your hair care this month. As the cold winter season fast approaches, it is important we give our hair all of the love and kindness it deserves. Whether you choose to go with the No Poo Method, The Coco&Eve Hair Mask, or the Coconut Oil Hair Moisturizer, I promise you your hair will look and feel a lot healthier than it does right now. Always remember that when dealing with our hair it is best we stick to natural and organic products as that is really what our hair and bodies crave. It is the harsh chemicals and non-natural products that are making us have to heal our hair in the first place! Best of Luck!
