H&M Collaborates With Boltware To Work Together on the Design of Smart Clothing
H&M is continuing to work on the design of smart clothes. The brand’s chief technology officer thinks that smart clothing can be an alternative to smartwatches and other wearables. And to achieve this, the company plans to collaborate with Boltware.
Now, the fashion brand is examining monitor heart rate and hydration levels technologies. Before, H&M had already worked with the fashion-tech company on the denim jackets design that is able to mimic hugs. But unfortunately, not enough customers voted for this design to go into production.
However, H&M’s may face some obstacles. This can be the absence or low signal of 5G in some countries, as well as the fact that smart clothes can’t be year-round. In addition, such clothes are expensive, can’t be washed in traditional ways, and need rechargeable batteries.
In the company, they predict that smart clothing will compete in the market and finally overtake health applications.
