Giorgio Armani Has Been Recently Honored With Highest Italian Recognition
Italian President Sergio Mattarella has recently awarded Giorgio Armani the Knight Grand Cross, the country’s highest honor. The 87-year-old fashion designer is now the third person in the fashion industry to receive the award. Previously, only two people from the world of fashion received awards: Valentino Garavani in 1986 and Miuccia Prada in 2015.
The private ceremony took place at the Palazzo del Quirinale in Rome, one of the three official residences of the head of state. This award is awarded for achievements in the field of literature, art, economics, public service, as well as for social, charitable, and humanitarian work. It is noted that Armani was awarded a special honor for his services in the field of fashion and art (he devoted about sixty years to his career as a designer).
In honor of the anniversary of Emporio Armani, Giorgio Armani will show the spring collection at Armani / Teatro, where the brand’s shows are held and will release a special issue of Emporio Armani magazine.
