Everything You Need to Know about Microblading

Trends are constantly changing with celebrities at the forefront of most new beauty trends and insight so readily available via social media it is now, more than ever, simpler to go with the flow and try your hand at the next fashion/beauty must-have.

With luscious full eyebrows making a comeback, you may be wondering which is the best way to fill in your brows without arduously applying your make-up each morning, only to find your eyebrows just aren’t symmetrical. Well, eyebrow experts have a solution: Microblading.

What Is Microblading?

Microblading is essentially a tattoo technique. Using a small handheld machine to lightly draw on individual hair strands to give a natural-looking finish. Microblading eyebrows are a great way to achieve fuller brows that last longer (between one to three years in fact). Whilst the idea of tattooing your eyebrows may seem daunting, having a semi-permanent eyebrow filling is surely a trend you can get on board with.

Permanent may seem like a huge commitment, especially when it comes to something as visible as your eyebrows. But when pencils and gels just aren’t working for you and are leaving your eyebrows thinner than ever, it’s time to try something new.

We understand you may have doubts, but we have some excellent news regarding that question on the tip of your tongue.

Is Microblading Permanent?

In short, no! Microblading is a SEMI Permanent technique similar to a regular tattoo although the pigment is implanted much closer to the surface of your skin, meaning the effects only last up to three years. So for all those terrified of having permanent eyebrows whilst styles are constantly going in and out of fashion, there is no need to worry.

You can now stop wondering ‘is microblading eyebrows permanent?’ and start planning your semi-permanent eyebrow filling style to keep you ahead of the curve for the next three years.

What’s even better is that if you love your newly micro-bladed eyebrows, you can arrange touch-ups every six months.

One of the most important things to understand about microblading is that everyone will experience it differently. For some, the initial pain will be more than for others. (don’t worry though you can always use numbing cream.) Similarly with longevity. Differences in pigment break down speed, skin type and lifestyle can all affect how quickly your almost permanent eyebrows fade.

Now, we know what you’re thinking…

How Much Does Microblading Cost?

The Microblading price will vary depending on both artist and location, but for a job well done you should expect to pay anywhere between $600 – $1500.

Microblading eyebrows is definitely an investment, but just imagine no longer spending hours in front of a mirror each morning filling in your brows. No longer having to go bare browed because your make-up ran out the mid filling and in the current climate, fewer trips to the shop to buy your tried and trusted eyebrow pencil is surely a bonus?

If you tot up all the numbers and factor in the price of traveling to and from the store to purchase your perfect brow filler, in reality, microblading eyebrows cost a similar amount to how much you would spend on a three year period. Plus microblading removes all the trial and error leaving you waking up each day with already perfect eyebrows.

Not convinced yet?

As an additional bonus, most microblading artists will include in the microblading cost, a touch-up, and a check-in appointment around 1 month after the initial treatment to double-check you are satisfied with the finished result.

With gorgeous, natural-looking brows and a shed load of extra time on hand. Ditch the stress-filled start to your day and trust that microblading can absolutely be worth the cost.

Caring for Your Brows Post-microblading

The final step to ensure you get the most out of your microblading appointment is to make sure you take proper care of your eyebrows post-treatment. Experts suggest the following tips to help keep your new brows in great condition.

  • Do not get your eyebrows wet for one whole week after microblading (this includes sweat).
  • If working out is a must, then protect your eyebrows with an antibacterial cream.
  • Use vaseline to keep your brows soft and ease the itch caused by the scabbing.
  • Do not pick at the scabs, allow them to come off in their own time to make sure you’re not removing the pigment too early.
  • Don’t wear make-up. Especially not on your eyebrows (why would you want to know that you’ve filled out your brows by microblading).
  • Avoid saunas.
  • Sunscreen is your friend. Down the line, once your brows have healed, much like a regular tattoo, using sunscreen is the best way to protect the color from fading.

With everything you need to know about microblading laid out in front of you, the time for a decision has come. One year from now with your perfect semi-permanent eyebrows on, you’ll be wondering how you ever wondered ‘what is eyebrow microblading?’ And you’ll be spreading the word on this life-changing fashion trend as if you’d known all along it was right for you.
