Celine Jewelry Rethinks the Sculpture Created by the Artist Louise Nevelson
Hedi Slimane has decided to continue Celine’s art project. The collection of jewelry, available in limited edition, is inspired by Louise Nevelson. Started last year, César Compression was a fresh rethinking of wearable art designs.
Nevelson, who is known for her pieces made in a fluid wave of wood worked on the design of more than 200 jewelry pieces, which you can now find in private and public collections. And now, Celine has brought a new life to one of these small wearable sculptures, presenting a line of 50 unique pieces.
The pieces that Louise initially created for her personal use now can now be enjoyed by a new generation and the creation can be worn by both men and women.
The black-colored piece made of wood is placed in metal nods to the moving forms of the sculptor’s works. It takes inspiration from Cubism’s strong silhouettes, as well as Surrealism.
The pieces on a chunky chain vary from necklaces, earrings, rings, and bracelets and serve as a sort of talisman or an amulet for its owner.
