A Mini-Show by Michael Kors Dedicated to His Brand 40th Anniversary
Michael Kors held a show in the center of New York in honor of the brand’s 40th anniversary, presenting the public with a new collection. The mini-show took place without spectators, so last night viewers could watch the show from the screens of computers and phones. Naomi Campbell, Bella Hadid, Irina Shayk, and other famous models have graced Times Square with their presence.
The show featured 63 looks, and each outfit in the collection has its own QR code, which contains information about the history of its creation. A quick scan unlocks clips with images and designer statements about their design. The line includes bright dresses of different lengths, vinyl raincoats, coats, and fur coats. The collection also consisted of pantsuits and sets with skirts.
There was no designer run on the podium this time. Instead, Kors recorded a message announcing a donation to the charity The Ators Fund.
Much of that strange but at the same time creative clothes that the designer created in the beginning, we now accept as something common. For example, naked legs in winter, or a cocktail dress in combination with a men’s coat- all this glamor and simplicity the designer combines in each of his collections.
But this time, Kors focused on luxury. “People will want to go out looking pretty. For example, go for burgers in cocktail dresses and high heels”- the designer says of his eccentric outfits: minimalistic dresses with cut-outs at the waist, a variety of trouser suits, and characteristic unusual outerwear such as fur coats, reminded of cotton candy and “puffy” winter jackets.
